2. What are the dimensions and weight capacity of the fireplace beams?
Our oak fireplace beams come in various sizes to accommodate different spaces, typically ranging from 4 to 8 feet (1.2 metres to 2.4metres)in length and 5 to 8 inches (14cm to 20cm in height). Each beam is crafted to support significant weight, making them suitable for both decorative and functional use. 3. How do I measure for my fireplace beam?
To ensure a proper fit:
● Use a tape measure to determine the desired location for the beam.
● Stand back from your chimney breast and choose the beam's position.
● Check clearances required from any heat source as outlined in your appliance’s installation manual.
● We sometimes fin it helpful to create a carboard template of your product dimensions and try it up in the space to see if the proportions look to your requirements.
4. How do I install the fireplace beams?
Installation is designed for the DIY enthusiast. Each beam comes with detailed instructions and all necessary mounting hardware. We recommend using a stud finder to locate wall studs for secure installation into stud walls. For additional guidance, our installation video can be accessed here
5. Can I customise the size or finish of my fire place beam?
Yes, we offer customization options for our fireplace beams. You can choose from various sizes and finishes to match your home’s decor. Please contact our customer service team for more information on customisation options and to discuss your specific needs.
6. What care and maintenance do the fire place beams require?
To ensure the longevity of your oak fireplace beams, we recommend regular dusting with a soft cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a damp cloth with mild soap. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the finish. We also offer a maintenance kit to ensure your product is kept looking fresh.
7. What colour would work best for my beam?ow
When choosing a colour for your beam, we generally advise selecting a hue that blends well with the building's fabric. Richer colours tend to suit older properties, while fresher, softer colours work well in newer homes. If you have a specific piece of furniture you’d like your beam to match, please request a sample pack or send us a picture of your furniture for assistance. Keep in mind that natural wood deepens with age, and your care routine can affect the colour. We can always deepen a lighter colour, but lightening a darker colour is more challenging. 8. How long will it take to receive my order?
We typically aim to dispatch standard size beams within 5-10 working days however these may be a little longer in peak season. Please note that bespoke size orders may have a longer lead time of up to 4 weeks.
9. Can I change my order after it has been placed?
If you wish to change your order, please contact us as soon as
possible. Changes can be accommodated if your order has not yet been processed.
Once dispatched, we are unable to make alterations.
10. Can I change my delivery address?
If you notice an error in the delivery address details you entered, please contact us immediately. Once your beam has been dispatched, we cannot change the delivery address.
11. What happens if my order is damaged when I receive it?
Please inspect the packaging before opening your beam. If the packaging is damaged, take a photo before opening it and send it to us via our contact form, selecting the product damage option. If your beam is also damaged, please photograph it and send it to us. We will arrange for a replacement beam to be dispatched and the damaged beam to be returned.
12. Do you offer bespoke sizes?
Yes, we do. Please use our contact form on the website, and one of our team members will assist you. Alternatively, if you’d like to discuss your sizes, feel free to call our design team.
13. What sectional size should I order?
Design is often a personal choice. Consider how you plan to use your beam and the size and weight of items you’d like it to hold. For plasterboard walls, we recommend choosing from our plasterboard section.
14. What happens when I place my order?
Once you place your order, you will receive an emailed receipt and confirmation. We will begin processing your order and making your beam. After quality checking, your beam will be packed and dispatched. You will receive a notification of your delivery time slot in advance.
15. What happens if I’m not available to take a delivery?
If you are not available to receive your delivery, the driver will leave a card with details on how to rearrange the delivery for a more convenient time.
16. Where does your wood come from?
All our oak is carefully sourced from European sawmills. We have established strong relationships with our suppliers, ensuring exceptional product quality. All our wood is either PEFC certified. For more information on our eco policies, please visit our sustainability page.
17. How can I place an order?
The easiest way to place your order is through our online shop. However, we also welcome telephone orders, so please feel free to give us a call!
18. Can I get a discount for my large order?
Yes, we offer better prices on larger orders. Contact us to discuss your requirements, and we will provide a quotation. Trade customers also qualify for discounted prices.
19. Can I visit your showroom?
While we do not currently have a showroom, a visit to our workshop can be arranged by appointment. Please get in touch, and we’d be delighted to see you!
20. How accurate are your listed dimensions?
Dimensions shown are approximate, to the nearest 1.5cm. t is important to note that products may be up to 1.5cm smaller after sawing and sanding.
21. How do I install my product?
We provide fitting instructions on our website. Each product is accompanied by fittings and brackets. Please note that the fittings supplied may not be suitable for every wall type. We are here to provide further advice or answer any questions regarding installation—don’t hesitate to call us!
22. Will my beam crack after installation?
Surface cracks may already be present in your beam prior to installation. Further cracking can occur after installation, especially if the house has central heating. This is a normal part of the wood’s acclimatisation process and adds character to the product. We recommend storing your beam indoors for about two weeks before installation, gradually increasing the room temperature during this period.
23. Where are the concealed bracket holes?
Holes for our fireplace beams are generally drilled in the largest face of the product. We will inform you if this is not the case. Holes can be drilled in a smaller side upon request.
24. Can my beam/shelf be fitted to a plasterboard wall?
Beams can be fitted to a plasterboard wall if you can locate the timber uprights. However, fitting your product to a brick or breezeblock wall is always a better option. We have a dedicated plasterboard range on our website; please choose these products for plasterboard installations.
25. Can I cancel my order?
Orders can be cancelled within 2 working days of purchase for a full refund. After this period, a fee may apply. Please note that bespoke and made-to-order products are non-refundable.
26. Do all beams and shelves come with fixings?
All our beams and shelves available on the website come with all necessary fixings for installation. Please note that bespoke orders may not include fixings.
27. Do you offer trade discounts?
